More Than A Branch

Canva Tutorials & Walkthroughs

The More Than A Branch family tree templates are set up to make editing as simple as possible. Therefore, all the backgrounds are non editable. You can however move the name banners around to fit your particular family structure.

The mini websites are a great way to share your family history. They have also been set up with ease of use in mind. I do suggest that you watch the walkthrough prior to editing.

Canva is a versatile and easy to master software, and to make things even simpler, I have gathered basic instruction videos below.

Have fun sharing your family history!

A Few Tips

– Once you exit out of your document any edits you have made are set.
– Canva auto saves.
– Sometimes lines will try to snap to an object. To avoid this press the ‘Command’ (Mac) / ‘Alt’ (PC) key while moving your line.
– To undo: press ‘Command Z’ / ‘Alt Z’.
– To add (or remove) a curved text: select the text and click ‘Effect’ in the menu bar. Curves only work for single lines of text.
– To align objects: select objects and click on ‘Position’ in the menu bar.
– To condense text: select the text and click ‘Spacing’ (three little lines with an arrow) in the menu bar.
– To bring up the ruler: press ‘Shift R’. Guides can be created by placing your cursor within the ruler and dragging it onto your document.
